The 2025 Navigator is coming hot off a solid year, and this one is no different. With some of the best features on the market, how does this three-row SUV compare to others in its class? We’ll be taking a look at one of its rivals, the Infiniti QX80, to see if the Navigator is truly better.
Is the Navigator Comfortable For Passengers?
When it comes to three-row SUVs, one of the most important things is passenger comfort. You don’t want your passengers to be cramped, and Lincoln kept that in mind. Before we get to the Lincoln’s dimensions, we’ll take a look at the QX80’s. For the first row, the QX80 offers 43.8 inches of legroom, providing a comfortable ride for the front row occupants.
But for the second row, things get a bit cramped. The QX80 provides the second row with less space, measuring 39.2 inches. While the first row gets all of the extra room, the second row suffers a bit, and if you want something comfortable for the family, you may want a bit more space.
That’s where the Navigator comes in. While the first row sees a bit less front leg room at 43.5 inches, this is still plenty, giving you a comfortable ride. The second row is where the difference shines. The Navigator gives the second row 42 inches of legroom, making it a much more comfortable ride, and doesn’t impact the front row nearly as much as the QX80.
How Much Can the Lincoln Navigator Tow?
While most may not think about it, when in a pinch, you’ll want the highest towing capacity. While the QX80 can tow a respectable amount at 8,500 pounds, the Navigator can tow 8,700 pounds.
Despite both vehicles being powered by a 3.5L V6, the QX80 does have more power from the engine, with 450 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque. The Navigator comes with 440 horsepower and 510 lb-ft of torque.
On paper, the QX80 should tow more, but thanks to the build of the Navigator, it can do better than the QX80. This helps it be the best vehicle to have in a pinch, or even when you have a fun weekend planned.
Does the Lincoln Navigator Offer Premium Features?
When looking at the base models, the Navigator comes loaded with features. On the inside of the vehicle, the first thing you’ll notice is the massive 48-inch panoramic display that crawls across the dash. This will make even the most tech-savvy drivers blush. Just under this screen is another 11.1-inch touchscreen display that has controls for the larger screen.
Other visible features that the first row has are a wireless charging pad, genuine wood accents, and leather seats for the first two rows. When sitting in the driver's seat, you’ll notice that it comes heated and ventilated, same with the front passenger seat. While the second row doesn’t come with ventilated seats, it does come with a warming option, helping keep your passengers warm.
For the QX80, you’ll find that it comes with a 14.3-inch infotainment display, but that’s nothing too spectacular, especially with Lincoln’s on the scene.
Other interior features that you can find are heated seats for the driver, passenger, and even the second row. While it does keep you warm, when the temperatures start to rise, there’s no ventilation option in the seats to keep you cool.
While the QX80 does come with some features that are similar to the Lincoln, it just can’t quite match the quality of the build when comparing the two starting trims on either side.
Should I Purchase a Lincoln Navigator?
If you’re looking for the best tech features in a 2025 luxury SUV, the best comfort features, and a more capable machine, then the Navigator is for you. While the QX80 is a strong competitor, it gets outclassed in multiple ways. Car and Driver notes that if you want some of the “coolest features” on the QX80, they get “paywalled behind six-figure price tags”.
