The Ford Maverick Lobo is offered in two equipment groups, Standard 402A and High 702A, but buyers do not need the more expensive package to get the full Lobo performance experience.Both versions use the 2.0-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder, producing about 250 horsepower and 277 lb-ft of torque, paired with a seven-speed quick-shift automatic and Advanced All-Wheel Drive with a twin-clutch rear drive unit. Both also receive the lowered performance-tuned suspension, upgraded steering, Focus ST-derived front brakes, paddle shifters, and dedicated Lobo drive mode, along with distinctive bodywork and 19-inch wheels.
The difference is primarily equipment. The 402A Lobo provides the core performance hardware at the lowest price, making it the better value for buyers primarily interested in the Maverick's street-truck capabilities. The 702A High package adds comfort and convenience features such as heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, dual-zone climate control, a Bang & Olufsen audio system, connected navigation, a power moonroof, power sliding rear window, 400-watt inverter, spray-in bedliner, and additional trailering technology. In other words, spending more on the Lobo High buys a better-equipped truck, not a faster one.

The Ford Maverick FX4 Off-Road Package is an affordable factory upgrade designed to give AWD EcoBoost models additional capability away from pavement. For roughly $800, the package adds 17-inch aluminum wheels with all-terrain tires, exposed front tow hooks, skid plates, and an off-road-tuned suspension with monotube rear shocks. Ford also upgrades the cooling system with a higher-capacity radiator and cooling fan, making the package more than a collection of cosmetic changes.
FX4-equipped Mavericks also receive Hill Descent Control, dedicated Mud/Ruts and Sand drive modes, an off-road information display in the instrument cluster, and distinctive FX4 bedside graphics. The package is intended for relatively light trail use rather than serious rock crawling, but it provides useful hardware for dirt roads, campsites, snow, and other low-traction conditions without requiring buyers to step up to a dedicated off-road trim. Availability is restricted to compatible 2.0-liter EcoBoost AWD configurations, so front-wheel-drive and hybrid Mavericks cannot be equipped with FX4.
